9 Things I Hate About Everyone

1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... Iknow where my watch is pal, where the hell is yours? Do I point"somewhere" when I ask where the toilet is?

2. People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the tv remote because they refuse to walk to the tv andchange the channel manually.

3. When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat ittoo". Damn right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

4. When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of courseit is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Dopeople do this? Who and where are they? Gonna Kick their asses!

5. When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". NoLoser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the damn floor.

6. People who ask "Can I ask you a question?".... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?

7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.

8. When people say "life is short". What the hell?? Life is thelongest damn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?

9. When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks "Has the bus come yet?". If the bus came would I be standing here, dumbass?

New 3-Series Cabrio from BMW

I's been a long road full of rumors, spy shots and doctored press photos, but BMW's overseas press contingent has released the first official shots of BMW's new 3-Series Cabrio, complete with folding hardtop.

Set to be unveiled at the Detroit auto show in January, the cab is arriving in spring 2007, initially in 325i and 335i flavors, with more (including diesels for Europe) variants joining the stable later.

Google Launches AdWords Diagnostic Tool

In mid October Google began testing the Magnifying Glass Feature in the Diagnostic Tool and now it appears be integrated in all AdWords accounts. The Ads Diagnostic Tool can identify why a particular ad or group of ads may not be showing. In those cases where an ad is not shown, this tool provides recommended steps to help you get your ads up and running.
You can find more details about this at Google AdWords help.

Microsoft's Experimental Ms. Dewey Search

A couple of days ago I found a post on Google Operating System blog regarding an interesting search engine called Ms. Dewey.

The difference between the classic search engines and this one is that it features an attractive woman, Ms. Dewey, who stands above a search box and speaks to the user during his search. The site has a nice black look but it takes a long time to offer results to the user.

It uses Microsoft's Windows Live Search search engine and Macromedia Flash technology. The idea behind this is interesting, but without an AI to fully support it still remains a nice web application without a big repertoire of funny jokes. After a few minutes of using Ms. Dewey website I got bored of the same jokes and actions she does.

One of my favorite joke is when she taps on the glass of monitor to get your attention, if you don't do something for awhile.

I recently heard that Miscrosoft is behind Ms. Dewey website and they lunched it as soon as Google's experimental SearchMash site appeared online.

The Google movement

I have recently written an article regarding a plug-in developed by VortexDNA and after reading it again today and the comment posted there, I got a new idea about the "Google movement".

In the above article I discussed about a plug-in for Firefox based on a technology developed by VortexDNA, so I wonder how long will it be before Google will acquire this company too to integrate this feature into their already huge platform? Google has a history of buying small companies which developed a good idea but who struggle to survive on the web due to lack of funds or means to promote themselves. If the technology proves to be useful, buying it by Google and integrating it into their current platform will be the next logical thing to do. After all Google has the money and the power to do that.

As far as I can see, Google is trying to "educate" the average user to create a "one-in-all" account on their platform so they can have access to a lot of useful tools for free. Some of them are developed internally by Google, but most of them like Writely, Blogger, Google Analytics and other come from acquisitions of small companies. But this so called "free" is not entirely free. Google will either integrate Adsense to get revenue from publicity or they create a tighter connection with other tools that have already integrated Adsense.

The Google Movement has already started and it keeps growing, adding every day more users to it. The users are not just individuals who use their services but also companies who use Google tools to earn money. In a short time, Google will be integrated in almost every aspect of the Internet and almost every one will be using a small portion of Google to their personal needs.

And this is a good thing, both for Google and for us. Or is it not?

I admire them for their ability to sell free things!

Open Excel Attachments in Google Spreadsheets

Google has added a new feature to their web based email system, Gmail, the ability to import to Google Spreadsheets any Excel spreadsheet received as an attachment in an email.
When you receive an Excel spreadsheet as an attachment in Gmail, a new option will appear next to "View as HTML" and "Download": "Open in Google Spreadsheets". If you click on that link, the file will be imported to Google Docs & Spreadsheets and you can start editing it. This is useful if you don't have Microsoft Office, OpenOffice or other office suite. You can also invite the person who sent that document to Google Docs & Spreadsheets, so you don't have to email the new version of the spreadsheet. You can use the mail that contained the attachment as a bookmark: the next time you click on "Open in Google Spreadsheets", a dialog will offer to open the existing copy.
This is another step from Google from their process to integrate all the tools they have created so far into a big Google Platform.

Firefox 'plug-in' to filter Google search results

A New Zealand company developed an Internet browser feature, or 'plug-in' that aims to improve the results from a typical Google search.
VortexDNA, a Christchurch technology company, claim to have developed a plug-in to the Firefox browser that can improve the relevance of Google search results. And they're looking for thousands of volunteer web-searchers to give it a free trial. The 'plug-in' is called MyWebDNA and can be downloaded from the VortexDNA website free of charge. Once the user installs the plug-in MyWebDNA presents you the two most relevant Google search results in the same way you might circle something that interests you in a newspaper.
The user's personal search 'DNA' is created by answering a few short questions as the plug-in installs into Firefox. It can be updated at any time by logging into the VortexDNA website.
The company believes this connection will enhance the Google experience.

I am waiting comments about this plug-in, and I am eager to test it myself, as soon as my Internet provider restores my Internet connection.

"Jump to..." feature on Google search page

Have you noticed that every time a search is being made on Google using a single word, a lot of pages are returned. The pages with the highest PageRank are the first ones to be showed, and the pages with the lower PageRank are showed among the last ones. But how many times have you reached those last pages from the thousand or tenth of thousand of pages?

It is frustrate even to navigate to 20Th page of the search results, because you have to click 20 times on the Next link, but how about navigate to page number 245223?

I think Google should introduce the feature to be able to jump to any desired page, based on a selected number. The number must be lower than the total number of pages Google returned for your search. This feature will give websites with small PageRank a chance to end up as one of the pages visited by the user after he makes a search on Google.

The idea came to me after I tried to find, using Google, a website with a list of web proxy address so I can be able to access some websites restricted by the proxy from the company where I work. Almost all the relevant search results returned in the first 20 pages by Google were websites restricted by the company's proxy server. If I could access a lower result pages without clicking forever on the Next link I think I could have easily found a website that with a web proxy not being restricted by the company's proxy server.

The only reason to go to work

This is one of my favourite funny picture. It describes perfectly what a work day represents for an employee on a corporate company.

Trust me because everything I said before I have, and keep experiencing it every day during my 4 hours witch I spent at work. The most exciting moment during my workday is the meal from 11.30.

Sometimes I just watch my work colleagues and wander how can they stand at work eight or perhaps more than eight hours every day during five days a week. Perhaps as time will pass, I will get used to it, but for now I am grateful that I only have to work 4 hours a day.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

First steps

This is the first time I use a blog to post my thoughts and impressions, a big step for me, a small step for mankind. After spending almost an hour choosing the template and doing other design tasks, I am finally ready to post my first blog. It feels so exciting!
